Shakib Khan’s High-Octane Action Thriller ‘Borbaad’ Set to Dominate Eid 2025 – Biggest Bangladeshi Film Ever

Appayan Saha, Kolkata : Shakib Khan’s upcoming film, ‘Borbaad’, is slated for a theatrical release on April 1, 2025, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. The official teaser, released on February 27, 2025, showcases Khan in a striking new avatar and has garnered significant attention. Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, ‘Borbaad’ is reported to be one of the most expensive productions in the Bangladeshi film industry, with a budget estimated between ৳15 crore and ৳18 crore. The film features an ensemble cast, including Indian actor Jisshu Sengupta, who appears in the official teaser, confirming his involvement. Additionally, prominent Bangladeshi television actor Mamunur Rashid plays a negative role in the film. Indian actress Nusrat Jahan has performed an item song, marking her second collaboration with Shakib Khan after their 2018 film ‘Naqaab’. The film’s soundtrack includes contributions from Pritom Hasan, who previously collaborated with Khan on the successful track ‘Laage Ura Dhura’ from the 2024 film ‘Toofan’. The production of ‘Borbaad’ commenced on October 20, 2024, at Ellora Studios in Mumbai, India, with principal photography wrapping up in mid-November 2024. The film is currently in post-production, with promotional activities underway in anticipation of its April release.
