Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Gets a Royal Shake-Up: Siddharth Anand Steps In as Director, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan Join the Regal Cast!

Appayan Saha, Kolkata : Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “King” has undergone a directorial change. Initially slated to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the project will now be helmed by Siddharth Anand. This transition stems from the film’s evolving scale and vision, which began to align more closely with Anand’s expertise in large-scale action cinema. Recognizing this shift, Ghosh amicably stepped down, suggesting that Anand take over to better fulfill the project’s ambitions.

Despite stepping down as director, Sujoy Ghosh continues to contribute to “King” as a co-writer, collaborating with Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya on the screenplay.

The film is scheduled to commence shooting in March 2025, with a 6 to 7-month schedule planned across various global locations. The production team aims for a 2026 release, promising high-octane action sequences that are expected to set new benchmarks in Indian cinema.

“King” features Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role, with his daughter, Suhana Khan, making her big-screen debut as his protégé. Abhishek Bachchan has been cast in a negative role, adding depth to the narrative. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Marflix Pictures.
