Appayan Saha, Kolkata : Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar is making a highly anticipated return to Bengali cinema with the film Aamar Boss. Directed by the acclaimed duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, this project marks her first theatrical release in Bengali since Rituparno Ghosh’s Shubho Mahurat in 2003.
The shooting of Aamar Boss commenced in January 2024 at various locations across Kolkata, including the iconic Victoria Memorial. The production wrapped up in February 2024, with the cast and crew expressing heartfelt emotions as they concluded the project.
Initially slated for a June 2024 release, the film’s premiere was postponed to December 2024 due to unforeseen circumstances. Aamar Boss was also selected for the Indian Panorama section at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in November 2024, highlighting its significance in contemporary Indian cinema.
As of March 2025, there have been no official announcements regarding the film’s release date. Fans eagerly await further updates on this significant addition to Bengali cinema.
