Appayan Saha, Kolkata : Bengali superstar Jeet and acclaimed director Raj Chakraborty are reportedly in discussions for a new project, with plans to commence filming later this year. This collaboration has generated significant excitement among fans, as both have delivered numerous successful films in the Bengali cinema industry.
Previously, Jeet was associated with a film titled “Lion,” directed by Bangladeshi filmmaker Raihan Rafi. Announced in October 2024, “Lion” was intended as a joint India-Bangladesh production, featuring Jeet and Bangladeshi actor Sariful Razz in lead roles. The film was slated to be an action-packed drama, with shooting expected to begin in December 2024 and a release planned for Eid 2025.

However, reports from November 2024 indicated that “Lion” faced delays due to budgetary constraints and logistical challenges, particularly in securing a ship essential for the film’s storyline. Producer Shyamsundar Dey acknowledged these issues but remained optimistic about the project’s future, suggesting that production might commence in early 2025.
As of March 2025, there have been no official updates on the status of “Lion,” leading to speculation that the project may have been shelved or indefinitely postponed. Consequently, Jeet’s potential collaboration with Raj Chakraborty has garnered attention as his next significant venture. Fans eagerly await official announcements regarding this new project, hopeful that it will proceed without the setbacks experienced by “Lion.”
